Removal of the following pre-requisites for AST 102N bring AST 102N into alignment with our other 100 level AGEC Science courses and other similar astronomy courses offered at community colleges in Arizona.
Prerequisite: MAT 089 or higher, and WRT 101 or higher, or permission of instructor

Course Description: Introduction to the universe beyond the solar system. Includes the nature of light, how astronomers and telescopes work, and the possibilities of alien life in the universe. Also includes the lifetime of stars, quasars, pulsars, and black holes. The origin, nature, and future of the universe are also discussed.
