Description: This course will introduce students to opportunities and career pathways in science, strengthen students’ academic skills and prepare them to be a successful college student. Students will be introduced to the Man in the Maze and how to use it for goal setting, self-awareness, and empowerment. Fundamental mathematical and scientific concepts will be covered to provide foundational knowledge for success in future STEM courses. Students will strengthen academic skills in math and science through culturally embedded problem-based learning involving critical thinking, data analysis, and problem-solving. Students will be introduced to college resources and student success techniques such as learning strategies, time management, stress management, and study skills.
