ART 297: Special Topics in Art
Prerequisite: ART 100
Credits: 3 cr. hrs. (5 pds: 2 lec 3 studios)
Course Description: ART 297 is an elective course that highlights a unique tool, process, technique, and/or practice in art. Course learning outcomes will vary based on the topic at hand. A course fee may be assigned for experiences that require specialized materials or community immersion learning.

Course Learning Outcomes:
1. Students will successfully execute a standard workflow, correctly selecting and applying materials and processes to meet specific project requirements.
2. Students will produce a portfolio of work that articulates a distinct artistic perspective or discipline by synthesizing environmental and sociopolitical themes.
3. Students will apply discipline-specific tools, processes, techniques, and materials to a project which aligns itself to the value system of O'odham Himdag.
